Munka Mile Procedure

Postby .zoot on May 25, 2006 2:57pm

PROCEDURE:

Basically we will need a list of every member wishing to participate (the list can be added to and edited as time progresses but we need a good chunk of people to start it off). We will then set out a map for the first few 'Tiles'. My map, I mean we will list off the order in which the tiles will appear.

Example:

#1: BigPapaJ
#2: Drivel
#3: Darkside
#4: EnslavedEyes
#5: etc. etc. etc.

Rather than sending files back and forth all willy nilly, we will have a section of the forums dedicated to this project. The person creating the first tile will create their tile, however they choose and post it in that section. Then the person in charge of the second tile will then make their tile based off of what was given to them in the first (if there is a line going off the edge of the first tile, the second person MAY wish to continue that line into their tile)

The next tile in the sequence will then follow the same suit after the second person posts their tile in the section of the forums...

This method will help prevent the need to do so much backtracking and editing of older tiles. It may be longer than all of us going nuts at the same time, BUT it will save us lots of time in the finer details that will allow them all to fit together nicely. Also, you don't have to wait for your turn to start your tile, you can start it whenever you wish, but you will need to wait for the previous tile to be posted before you can post yours so that you know it will line up appropriately.

SIZE:

It was earlier discussed that we make these tiles 1000 pxl's or something huge like that (so that it would be easier to make the full mile).

I'm suggesting we scrap that idea and follow suit with Blue Sfear. Not to copy their ideas to death, but they were on the right track with the sizes they chose (600 x 450).

This is a good way to go because that way, even people who have their monitors way down on 800x600 res (or less in some cases) will be able to see an entire tile without having to scroll around. I think that for the end product to look nice that's all we need. Plus, alot of people may have trouble filling such a vast space and we don't want every tile to be full of holes.

RULES:

Go Nuts! The sky is the limit. You can make your tile to suit your needs. Perhaps you're inspired by a game, a movie, a friend... anything.

All we ask is that you do not make your images vulgar or discriminatory (racist, sexist, etc). Also, your tiles cannot contain any pornography. This includes both real life and any variations of cartoon pornography you may have gotten your dirty little hands on. hehe. Keep in mind that this will be a publically viewed image and so the images you submit will reflect yourself as well as Blue Munka GFX.

Have Fun!

One Quick Question. OK, so tile one is 450 X 600. The Area left for blending takes up about 200 pixels on the one side. So if my tile is 450 x 600 as well and I use about 200 as well for blending with tile 1, and then I use 200 to blend with tile 3 that means the main body of each tile is only about 200 wide. Should the blending be should extra be added on to the width for blending or should the blending just be less...or should I just work with it? Just wanted to get clear before I really get going.

You guys are missing the point... you don't blend the images...

You make your image so that when placed beside the previous image it will appear as if they are blended or attached. Notice in the first frame I've made the road sort of turn into a grey line going off to the right? In the second tile you MAY (but don't have to I guess) want to continue that line to incorporate itself into your tile.

Check out the Blue Sfear version to get a better understanding. Those are individual images, not one long image.

You don't need to say "I'm in", you just make a tile and post it.
